First Annual Kingswood Christmas Party

December 14, 2006

Neighbors gathered on a cool, crisp evening for the first Kingswood Christmas Party.  Our gazebo was decorated with a Christmas tree and trimmed in holiday lights.  Gene Neitzel made a roaring fire where both kids and adults alike roasted marshmallows for a sticky, sweet treat.  Holiday music, spiced apple cider, cookies, and good conversation made this event a big success...and we all agreed this should be a tradition for years to come.

Fall Picnic at Kingswood Park October 21, 2006

Everyone had a wonderful time at our annual Fall Picnic. The mood was set by DJs Tommy and Rita Lopez (Kingswood Residents) with their wide selection of music.  We even had a few talented residents entertain us with their karaoke skills!

Grill Master James Hernandez slaved over the hot coals cooking delicious Hot Dogs and Hamburgers for the crowd.  Everyone brought a dish to share, and there was plenty to go around.

The kids gave the bounce house a good test, even to the point it started to deflate.  Thanks to the quick response by the Moms on hand, the day was saved and the bounce house was back in service.  There was also a pumpkin decorating area where volunteers helped the children make their very own Fall decoration to take home.

Hope to see you next year!

Memorial Day Picnic
May 28th, 2007
Our Memorial Day Neighborhood Picnic was a great success despite the wet weather.  Hot dogs, chips, and drinks were provided by the Homeowners Association.  Residents brought several wonderful desserts, baked beans, salads, and even a watermelon!

As a tribute to our fallen soldiers, Gene Neitzel, HOA President, read aloud a moving letter from Abraham Lincoln written to a mother who had lost 5 sons in battle.

A Plaque Dedication Ceremony was held at 4:00 p.m. to honor the men who made our park possible.  Several long-time residents shared their stories about our neighborhood's roots.

We had a great time eating ice cream and cookies in the park.
Gene's homemade peach ice cream was such a hit, there was none left when the Mayor got there!

We'll post pictures soon of everyone who came out to share a cool night getting know each other better.
